"We can choose to throw stones, to stumble on them, to climb over them, or to build with them." - William Arthur Ward
I began nursing in 1979 and really enjoyed being with and around people. As the years went by I became increasingly aware that I wanted to spend more time with my patients.  Talking, listening to their concerns and supporting them through major life changing events. During a traumatic time in my personal life, I had my own experience of counselling.  It had such a positive and motivating effect on my life that it encouraged me to pursue counselling as a career.   I am a relational counsellor, the relationship I share with my clients is very important.  I create a caring, supportive and empathic environment enabling my clients to work in a way that helps them gain insight to their inner strengths.  This strength aids them to engage in making choices to positive change. These changes enable clients to feel fulfilled and satisfied in life and also creating meaning and trust in not only the relationship they have with themselves, but also the relationships they share with others.   I am also accredited by the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists.  This means I have achieved a substantial level of training and experience that has been approved by the BACP.
